Interview with Michael Heemskerk 30-05-2004 How did you meet Patrick? In 1999, I was searching the internet one day for the ‘original’ Reiki symbols. Many different versions existed, so I wanted to find the correct way to draw them. I stumbled across a site that showed a symbol I’d never seen before. Basically, it was one of the Reiki symbols, the Cho Ku Rei, with an Infinity symbol added on. Apparently, it was called Cho Ku Ret, and the website associated it with someone called Patrick Zeigler. Reading further, I discovered that he had created a new system called Seichim, after experiencing a spontaneous initiation in the Great Pyramid in Egypt. I must admit that my initial reaction was ‘Here’s another guy who’s trying to use and change Reiki just to create the impression that he’s somebody special!’ So I read on, and forgot all about it. Every time I looked on the internet for the Reiki symbols, though, I seemed to come across this man’s name. I began to feel that there was actually something about him, although I didn’t know what. One way or another, his name was doing something to me. When I came across another article about Seichim, I found his email address and decided to write to him. I sent him an email asking if he could tell me about the Cho Ku Ret, and whether he knew about the Ta Ku Rei, which is another Reiki symbol with an Infinity symbol added. He wrote back, simply saying that he didn’t use symbols anymore. No symbols? I couldn’t understand it! I was so caught up in the way the Reiki system was traditionally taught, that it had never crossed my mind that we didn’t need to use the symbols.
I remember thinking that it was very strange that he gave me this for free, because at that time it was very expensive to obtain information about the Reiki Master level for example. But I printed it out, and asked him if I could call him sometime. He agreed, and we exchanged phone numbers. That evening, lying in my bedroom, I decided to read through the meditation he’d sent me. But, as I picked it up, I thought, ‘Why not just do it?’ So I started to read the first lines. Suddenly my crown chakra popped open, a huge energy came in, and went through the whole of my body. It took me completely by surprise! I was swept away in a really unbelievable “sea of love.’ I started to float. Everything from my past, the times when I had started to hate myself, all the things that had happened to me - all these feelings came passing by, encompassing me, and filling me totally with this “feeling of Love.” I found it an incredibly moving experience. I stayed like this all night. I was in awe of what was happening to me, but at the same time, it all felt so natural. At six o’clock in the morning, still awake, I started to wonder how I could give this to my students. I was already teaching Reiki and doing spiritual healing with groups. Suddenly, an apparition appeared before me. It was a woman in white, with a beautiful white dress and wild, floating, white hair, and she was drawing this (V) symbol. It looked like she was drawing the outline of a vase. I didn’t understand, and asked, ‘Can you give me a symbol to initiate people with this energy?’ Again she drew the vase symbol. I still didn’t understand what she was doing, so I just let it go, and kept on feeling this unbelievable feeling of Love, ‘All Love.’

I was so impressed by what had happened, and I felt so good, that I asked Patrick if he would be interested in coming to Europe. If he did a class in Holland, I would be able to share this with all my students. He agreed to come, and said that it was something that he’d been wanting to do for a long time. ¿Cómo conociste a Patrick?
Un día del año 1999 me encontraba buscando en Internet los símbolos "originales" de Reiki. Sabía que existían diversas versiones y quería encontrar la manera correcta de dibujarlos. Durante mi búsqueda fui a dar con una página web en la que aparecía un símbolo que nunca había visto antes. Básicamente, se trataba de uno de los símbolos de Reiki, el Cho Ku Rei, al que se le había adicionado el símbolo de infinito. Al parecer, este símbolo recibía el nombre de Cho Ku Ret, y se asociaba con alguien llamado Patrick Zeigler. Seguí leyendo y descubrí que este hombre había creado un nuevo sistema llamado Seichim, después de experimentar una iniciación espontánea en la Gran Pirámide de Egipto. Debo admitir que mi reacción inicial fue: "¡aquí tenemos a otro individuo que está intentando utilizar y cambiar Reiki para poder ser considerado como alguien especial!' Seguí leyendo y me olvidé de aquella primera impresión.
Cada vez que volvía a buscar en Internet los símbolos de Reiki, volvía a toparme con el nombre de este hombre. Comencé a sentir que realmente algo había en él, aunque no sabía qué. De alguna manera, su nombre estaba ejerciendo un efecto sobre mí. Cuando volví a tropezarme con otro artículo acerca de Seichim, encontré su dirección de correo y decidí escribirle. Le envié un e-mail pidiéndole información sobre el Cho Ku Ret y preguntándole si él conocía el Ta Ku Rei, que es otro símbolo de Reiki con un símbolo del infinito adicionado. Me respondió diciendo que él ya no utilizaba símbolos. ¿No usaba símbolos? ¡No alcanzaba a entenderlo! Yo tenía una idea tan fija sobre el modo en que el sistema Reiki era enseñado, que nunca se me pasó por la cabeza que no fuera necesario el uso de símbolos. Le pregunté que cómo realizaba entonces las iniciaciones, y él me dijo que, en lugar de una iniciación, él utilizaba una meditación "que fluía". "¿Una meditación qué?" pensé. Volví a escribirle preguntándole que de qué se trataba, y él me envió una corta meditación escrita y la imagen del Shenu de Seichim. Recuerdo haber pensado en lo extraño que me parecía que él me lo hubiera enviado sin pedirme dinero a cambio, ya que entonces era muy caro obtener información sobre la Maestría de Reiki. Pero lo imprimí y le pregunté si podría llamarle alguna vez. Él asintió e intercambiamos nuestros números de teléfono.
Aquella noche, tumbado sobre mi cama, decidí leer la meditación que me había enviado, pero, conforme la cogía entre mis manos, pensé, "¿por qué no hacerla?" Así que comencé a leer las primeras líneas. De repente, mi chakra corona se abrió y sentí que entraba una enorme cantidad de energía, recorriendo todo mi cuerpo. ¡Me pilló completamente por sorpresa! Fue como si fuera barrido por un increíble "mar de amor". Empecé a flotar. Todo mi pasado, los tiempos en que había comenzado a odiarme, todas las cosas que me habían sucedido, todas estos sentimientos pasaban a través de mí, abarcando todo mi ser, y llenándome totalmente de un inmenso "sentimiento de Amor". Fue una experiencia realmente sobrecogedora. Permanecí así toda la noche. Por un lado sentía temor por lo que me estaba sucediendo, pero al mismo tiempo, sentía que era algo muy natural. A las seis de la mañana, aún despierto, comencé a preguntarme cómo podría compartir esto con mis alumnos. Yo ya enseñaba Reiki y realizaba sanación espiritual en grupo. De repente tuve una aparición. Era una mujer de pelo cano vestida con un bonito vestido blanco, que dibujaba un símbolo como una V, parecía que dibujase el contorno de un jarrón. Yo no lo entendía y pregunté: "¿ podrías indicarme un símbolo con el que poder iniciar a otras personas en esta energía?" Ella dibujó otra vez el símbolo del jarrón. Yo seguía sin entender lo que estaba haciendo, así que lo dejé estar, y seguí experimentando ese increíble sentimiento de Amor, de "Todo el Amor".
Por la mañana tuve que levantarme para llevar a mi hija a la escuela. Aunque seguía sintiendo la energía, decidí, debido a la diferencia horaria entre Europa y E.E.U.U., esperar hasta la tarde para llamar Patrick y contarle lo que me había sucedido. Cuando conseguí hablar con él y contarle mi experiencia, me dijo: "Bien, de eso se trata, así es como funciona, ¡ésa es la iniciación!". Yo le contesté: "Bueno, es un poco simple", a lo que él respondió: "Sí, así es como va. Si estás preparado para ello, ocurrirá". Le conté acerca de aquella mujer y el jarrón, y al principio no me entendió, pero después dijo: "¡Oh!, el símbolo es el Kelb. En Egipto, el jarrón simboliza el corazón". Entonces entendí lo que la mujer de blanco quería decirme. Para ofrecer esto a mis alumnos, ¡simplemente tenía que abrir sus corazones! Estaba tan impresionado por lo que me había sucedido, y me sentía tan bien, que pregunté a Patrick si estaba interesado en venir a Europa. Si él daba una clase en Holanda, yo podría compartir esto con todos mis alumnos. Me dijo que lo haría y que era algo que había deseado hacer desde hacía mucho tiempo. Así que, en marzo de 2000, Patrick vino a Holanda, para la primera clase de SKHM realizada en Europa.

I asked him how he initiated people, and he told me that, instead of an initiation, he used a flowing meditation. ‘A flowing what?’ I thought. I wrote back, asking him how that went, and he sent me a short, one-page meditation, and a picture of the Seichim Shenu.
